INCUMBENT Vidarbha Hockey Association (VHA) President BC Bhartia will face former president Radheshyam Sarda for the president’s post in the elections of the association which are going to be held on November 16.
Bhartia, who is president of the association since last eight years, will be representing VHA Development Panel.
After several rounds of talks between members of Hockey Lovers Panel, headed by former mayor Sardar Atal Bahadur Singh, and Hockey Promoters Panel of Triloki Nath Sidhra, the two have decided to join hands and fight this elections under one banner—Hockey Lovers and Promoters Panel (HLPP).
Both the panels will be filing their nomination forms on Friday afternoon, it has been learnt.
TN Sidhra has managed to bargain five seats out of 13 and will be fielding his members in vice-presidents (2), treasurer and executive members posts (2).
Radheshyam Sarda, who defeated late Balraj Aher in 2005 elections, will be the presidential candidate of Hockey Lovers and Promoters Panel.
Current secretary, Gawai (VHA Development Panel) will have a straight fight against Vinod Trivedi (HLPP). Trivedi was secretary of the association in 2005.
Shaym Sharma, who was treasurer of the association since 2005 and was member of Gawai group for long, will fight against Ghanshyam Purohit while Pramod Jain (HLPP) will face Bhaskar Naidu (VHADP) for joint secretary’s post. The vice-presidential candidates of HLPP are Sardar Atal Bahadur Singh, DS Karunashankar, TN Sidhra and Kishor Goydani.
Salim Baig, Kunal Patil, Javed Rana, Dayashankar Tiwari and Sanjay Lokhande are likely to fight for executive members’ post.
Though VHADP are yet to zero in on their final 13, in all probability, they will be fielding Arif Khan, Kuldeep (Raju) Reddy and Unnat Khanna for vice-president’s post. The elections are going to be held on November 16 at Deputy Charity Commissioner’s Office, Civil Lines and results will be declared on the same evening.
